Why We Built This
The Christchurch builder market has a problem: the best information is scattered across Google reviews, word-of-mouth, and Facebook groups. National directories list hundreds of builders with no context. Reddit threads go stale. Homeowners end up guessing.
We have access to data most homeowners do not:

We turned that into a free, independent resource.

Profiles are editorial, not paid placements. Inclusion means there was enough public information to write a useful comparison record; it is not certification, a warranty or advice to appoint that business.

Enough public facts to support at least 250 words of original profile analysis

A clear residential specialisation, project type and likely scope
Specificity
At least one named person, project, process or other useful specific fact
Freshness
A visible review date and direct links for the homeowner to re-check

Genuinely serves Christchurch/Canterbury, not just listed nationally
Exclusion Criteria

- This is disclosed on every listing. You will always know which builders we work with.
- Client builders do not receive preferential ranking. Listings are organised by specialisation, area, and project type.
- Listings are not for sale. You cannot pay to be listed, pay to be featured, or pay to be ranked higher.
- Non-client builders are listed on merit. If a builder is good, serves Canterbury, and meets our criteria, they belong here regardless of whether they pay us.
We would rather you know upfront than discover it later. Transparency is not a weakness; it is the reason this site is worth trusting.
